We became fast friends our first semester of college and never looked back. From giving each other hometown tours on Google Earth to championing a weekend getaway to remote Wisconsin, we believe there are memories to be created in every place, big or small. Some of our favorite moments together are from “ordinary” nights of Glee marathons and late-night at-home karaoke singalongs.
As we begin to navigate the ups and downs of post-grad life, we want to remind ourselves of our college mentality and seek out adventure in the every day (while planning some bigger journeys as well š ).
Join us on our quest to make bucket list items out of the basic to the far-fetched, and find hidden gems within our lives already and in places we haven’t yet had the chance to look.
meet helena
Hey, Iām Helena! I grew up right outside New York City with my twin brother and younger brother. Fun fact, my family also have four dogs, two tortoises, two guinea pigs and one rabbit.
I studied Legal Studies, Psychology and Criminal Justice at Wisconsin and have become very passionate about criminal justice reform. Currently looking for a job in this field, if you know anyone hehe. And you might see some future posts about these issues.
I am obsessed with traveling (I know everyone says that, but seriously I am). I love learning about new cultures and the way people live. Some of my favorite countries I have been to are Fiji, Vietnam and Ecuador. I also enjoy exploring all of the hidden gems within the United States.
I love trying new things and have been through many phases in my life already, including a horse girl (I swear it was cool when I did it), a theatre kid, and an almost college athlete, just to name a few. Excited to experience this new phase of post-grad life and share these adventures of all sizes with you!
meet julia
Hi! I’m Julia, originally from Annapolis-area Maryland and am the middle child of three girls. I studied English at Wisconsin with hopes of being a writer and editor. I love to read (mostly romance, YA and commercial fiction- keep a look out for my book lists!) and watch TV shows/movies especially in the teen drama realm.
I don’t always feel like my life is too exciting or worthy of writing on, especially now as I live at home and figure things out in this post-grad era of life. But I think that’s a lot of why I want to write and post– to show myself and share with others that every phase and day have small moments that make them fun.
I am a lover of simplicity– my favorite things are buttered noodles, reading on the beach, sleeping (more and later than I should), laughing with friends, and singing in the car. I have chapstick with me 95% of the time, I like existing in oversized sweatshirts and I can’t get anywhere without a GPS.
Hoping to write my dream future (a publishing job and lots of travel) into existence, but along the way I look forward to seeking out the small gems š
Glad to have you here!
